Hawaii beaches have called to me throughout my life. Fishing, sailing, surfing, diving, and simple walks on the beach have been the core of my lifestyle over the last fifty years. It's a lifestyle I know many of us share and perhaps through this site, I can share some of it with you.
The beaches of Hawaii are known worldwide and each one offers a special attraction all its own. From the most crowded beach like Oahu's Waikiki Beach where you can people-watch and enjoy the sand, surf, and perfect swimming conditions to the secluded yet spectacular beaches of Kauai's Napali Coast, Hawaii's beaches present you with an opportunity to do anything you can imagine in some of the most beautiful ocean conditions in the world.
Each of the eight major islands in the Hawaiian archipelago - Oahu, Kauai, Maui, Molokai, Lanai, Hawaii, Niihau (a private island off of Kauai that is restricted to it's native Hawaiian residents), and Kahoolawe (an uninhabited island off of Maui) offers a collection of beaches reflective of their topography and age.
As the oldest islands in the chain, Kauai, Oahu, and Maui offer more sandy beaches than their youngest and largest sibling, Hawaii. However Hawaii, with its active volcanoes and extensive lava rock shorelines, possesses the some unique black sand beaches that originate with the lava shorelines and volcanic activity.
The relatively tiny islands of Lanai and Molokai offer remote and relatively secluded beaches due to their small populations and limited tourist-traffic. Whichever island you pick, you'll find an assortment of activities ranging from the most peaceful to the most extreme. Fishing, diving, snorkeling, kayaking, windsurfing & kitesurfing, sailing, surfing, and bodysurfing are all very common activities here in Hawaii with varying levels to match your interests and desire for challenge!
Through this site, I'll introduce you to my favorite Hawaii beaches and also special businesses on or near beaches... restaurants, stores, and various sources of entertainment that I've found exceptional and that are likely to appeal to the beachcomber in you! You'll even find some exciting business opportunities to explore that complement the apparent affection you have for a beach lifestyle.
